Alexander McQueen Collection Spring Summer 2011
The Alexander McQueen collection signed by Sarah Burton was one of the most anticipated shows during the Paris Fashion Week Spring 2011. Sarah, who was the right hand of the designer for many years, demonstrated she fully deserves the title of the “McQueen successor”. Sarah has remained faithful to the style that established the designer. However, she interpreted in a much more feminine way his techniques. Working for 15 years with the British designer, Sarah Burton was able to reproducing certain aspects of the brand, while also giving the collection her personal touch. The carefully designed structures, structural elements, volumetric and imperial type prints have blended well with the architectural cuts.
Fashion Designers Collections Fall Winter 2010 – 2011
Here are some fashion designers' collections for the fall/winter 2010-2011 seasons. Collections include Alexander McQueen, Burberry Prorsum, Calvin Klein, Blumarine, Christian Dior, and Dolce & Gabbana. The Alexander McQueen Fall 2010 Collection contains pieces which were cut 'on the stand' weeks prior to him taking his own life. The collection was inspired from Byzantine art, to Old Master paintings. Each look is colorful and very unique. Sadly, this is his last collection.
