UGGs: What A Good Fashionista Should Stay Away From

The UGGs trend is on accelerated  increase mode. Maybe it’s because it’s already October and it is getting colder here and there. UGGs, these boots have their roots in Australia, and can be traced way back to World War I. Shearers found them warm and comfortable so they wore them, then a company started producing them, and from then on a whole domino effect. But they are sheepskin boots, and their term does indeed come from ugly boot. In Australia UGG boots means exactly the same as sheepskin boots.

The genuine uggs are still sold and commonly worn in Australia. However, UGGs Australia, the one US claims ‘came up’ with, is no longer produced nor sold in Australia due to it maybe being to expensive? So the history comes to a sheepskin boot being ‘beautified’ and sold in high quantities on high levels. It caught on fire and it became a trend. I guess the general attitude has come down to: ‘everyone wears them, why not me?’. They are spreading in UK, Hong Kong, Turkey, among others.

I’m a college student here in US and I see Uggs everywhere! It’s like walking in a land of little bears freely roaming around. Beautiful girls, ugly boots. It is my perspective and you have all the right to disagree with it. Especially since this comes from a guy’s side. But they are warm and comfortable, otherwise they wouldn’t be all around. And that’s the only excuse they have to be around, again, in my perspective.

There are people who don’t give much importance to their appearance,  or not to a fashion level. Guys wear these baggy jeans, loose shirt/sweater, and one sized bigger sneakers because they feel comfortable and that’s it. But if you have some style, you give importance to the way you look, not just the way you feel, then my dear fashionista, whatcya got to do with them boots?
